I am back
Now that I am back to El Salvador, the blog clock is right.
I have been looking IB maths higher papers. I can't believe I took that class. I was only able to learn 50% of the syllabus. I am glad I don't have to go back to school never again.
Well, I am looking forward to the holidays, where the family can gather. Steven is so cute. And his little sister. It's so sweet when he calls her hermanita. It's a sign that in the future they will get along.
I am glad that I am back. Pleasant Hill was starting to get very cold.

Done
Well, if I didn't had to take this test on Friday, that means I could've returned to El Salvador earlier. Instead of typing this blog, I could be already playing DDR with my sisters or playing football. Well, no one knew about this, so what can you do?
It's freezing cold here. Winter is already here and it won't go until April.
The duo Capello-Beckham will be back, not in Madrid but in England. Exciting.
Real Madrid - Barcelona before Christmas eve.
Osasuna will be the day I return.
I gotta start packing now.

No posting
It's also a shame that the number of postings in this blog has been decreasing. But there is one thing you must realize: I am in my finals week, so I don't have much time to blog my long and boring posts about football. When I am done with this semester, there will be a lost of posts about football, don't worry. And perhaps of something else, if you get bored by that.

Future
Only God knows if I'll be accepted.
If I do, I'll buy 20 "UC BERKELEY" sweaters and distribute the to 20 people I know, including blog readers.
Well, my promises never make sense. Maybe I'll buy 50 sweaters if my first paycheck port-university convinces me.
So UC Berkeley, here I go. In case I don't go, there's always UCA. Is still a UC for me.

What is meant by religion
"I belong to Jesus" revealed Kaka, a famous Christian footballer, when he removed his sweaty Milan shirt after winning the Champions League this year. I did not fully grasped it's meaning the first time I saw it. And until now I really understand what it says. I don't need to belong in a religion, I belong to Jesus.
Many people may be proud of the religion they follow. Catholism, Hinduism, Islam, Daoism, Confucianism, and thousands more are all made by people.
But what is the price of following something man has made? Compared to the church Jesus Christ died for, it will be so insignificant.
So I don't have a religion, I have Jesus. And I belong to Jesus. What a precious love.

Formal apology
After spending the entire weekend being thankful, I also want to be sorry about some things.
I was reading some of my very old posts back when I was still at school. They were so embarrassing. It seemed that I hated everything. But there were good ones too, so I am not so worried.
However, let me return to the bad posts. They were about bad things such as suicide, hate (to teachers, fellow classmates, prefects, essays, and other things) and pride. I am glad that I left that behind, though.
I want to deeply apologize for any content that you read in this blog that maybe I meant it back then, but now I repent about anything bad I say.
Conclusion: School was a killer. I am glad I got out of it. But there were the good times too. So school wasn't a waste of time.

Thanksgiving
I had the chance to experience a real American Thanksgiving because a family from the church invited us over. The food was great, and now I have a better idea about an American meal, not being limited by hamburgers and fries. Well, there was the famous turkey, mashed potatoes, casserole, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, corn bread, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and anything else I forgot. Well, I stupidly filled my plate, and embarrassingly I was one of the last to finish eating. I didn't have to finish it up, but everything was delicious. And also I was warm by a cozy fireplace because it was so cold. They even told me that the top layer of their pool gets frozen.
Well, the American tradition in this dinner is that everyone says what they are thankful about. Well, I was thankful for having this experience of celebrating thanksgiving as I should, with real American food. I wanted to say more, but my shyness was an impediment. Luckily, I have a blog, and I can write everything that I can't talk about. Well, what I am really thankful for is finding a church, with great and caring brothers and sisters. And also I am thankful for God, because he is so faithful and powerful. And I am thankful for Jesus, for denying everything He had so that he could come to earth and save me from the sins which were blinding me. There's more that I am thankful about that I can't even talk about neither write them up. Jesus kindness is infinite.
Black Friday was a major disappointment. First of all, I don't have a car nor someone who could take me where I want. So I went to some stores at the mall nearby. The clothing stores were on discount, but the clothes were not that good and it was very crowded. But I did bought a pair of $1 earrings and $1 umbrellas. Maybe next year I would be able to go to Best Buy and buy a memory card for my PSP, and a digital camera or something else that I need. And also I should abstain from buying anything electronic until Black Friday. Next year I will plan something better.
Brrr, it's starting to get a little cold. I guess winter is coming. Fall semester should end soon. Man, what a semester!!! I love fall semester more than spring. I prefer thanksgiving over spring break. Eating is better than partying, I always say.

Disappointing
That is sad. But I am not sad. Neither happy. But what are the real supporters thinking? Like the English teachers from school who interrupted classes to watch the match? Or the hundreds of Asians-premier league fans who support England?
However, I am not ready yet to say that the England team is a failure. Is just a slight disappointment, and now we have to wait another two years for a major tournament.
And there is no one who can take the direct blame. Maybe pride. English are a bit proud when talking about sports. They were proud in the Champions league, in rugby, and now in Euro qualifications.
But I must say that the only way England can have a big success in football is getting a good (and I mean is) goalkeeper. This will also hopefully break the curse of losing in penalties. Goalkeepers are a key for winning. In school, I was a goalkeeper once, and I didn't like it, so I allowed some goals to enter nor I cared about the other team breaking the offside rule (maybe I didn't know it). But I found a real difference when I started to pay more attention because I didn't wanted to lose either with so many goals against me. So next match I was better and I think I didn't let a goal to enter, which made me player of the day (well, at least I considered myself to be).
Being a goalkeeper is quite cool because you don't run around like crazy. One day when I didn't like to be the goalkeeper I was asking a little boy who was goalkeeper why he like it? I don't remember what he said.
Now I don't know if I will watch the Euro 08 because I may take summer classes or do something else other than matches. But if I do, what team shall I support? Maybe the Iker Casillas team. Now that's good goalkeeper.
I know I talk about football very often. Maybe I should write for a football magazin so that I can be able to interview players. You may think I a a football weirdo girl, but I know other girls that like football too (well at least they like the PES game). But I like DDR best. Football is best played with a ball, I'll always say.

thanks
And I want to thank God for taking me out of the dark and seeing the light through Jesus. It's a priceless gift. Now I hope to follow all their guiding principles and stay on the church. No one wants to be separated from a loving family, the family of God. I just want to walk through the narrow gate which leads to light.
Now that I am baptized I feel like I want to do everything through Christ. Everything is possible with Him:
Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me
Well, I hope to see anyone soon, hopefully through this blog or back in El Salvador.
How I love fall. The contrast between the red leaves hanging on the trees and the intense blue sky is breathtaking. And the leaves on the floor completes the picture I had about this never experienced season. Behind all of this is an intelligent Creator, nothing to do with revolution or the usual yada yada.

Documents
Okay, the next document I am trying to get is the California license. So far is going bad because I haven't even finished reading the manual. I wonder what would happen when it comes the day to do the tests. Well, I didn't have any problems in my driving test back in El Salvador, the problem was that I forgot to bring the birth certificate.
Well, I am not that bad. I never forget (and I hope it stays like that) my passport and my I-20 or the flying ticket when it comes to travelling. So I don't know how I ended up writiing this post at all.

How am I doing
And also because I found a Church of Christ that really sticks to the Bible words. This is the church that Jesus Christ died for. Forget all the other churches (Adventist, Lutheran or baptist, i don't know what else) and I am glad that I found this one. It was some sort of strange connection that led me to this church, jajaja. I didn't even look it up in the Internet, and God's wonderful job help me to find it without much work and trouble. It's amazing.
I am glad that God found me a church because I was really dying spiritually. It was long time ago I assisted a church, and some part of me broke down when I didn't go anymore. I was looking at old posts I used to write when I used to rejoice to Him, and I couldn't believe that the Holy spirit inspired me so much write that. And the worst part is that many problems came in my life too and I wasn't spiritually strong to face them. I always walked some steps then I fell and stayed like that for a long time. And it wasn't going to be soon for me to walk again.
I hope this church helps me recover and that I can be a better soldier for God. And I thank anyone who prayed for me to find a church and to get baptized. What?! Did I get baptized? Actually, yes. After a month of assisting this church, I was convinced that I was ready to go far. Well, it exactly wasn't planned the day before, it was that day, October 27 2007 when they told me: Are you ready? We can do it now. My heart was ready and I wanted to be reborn. So why not? It's been 3 years since I last thought about it, and I am an adult now. And I don't have to focus on school, but the ironic part was that I baptized in the middle of my midterms, but I could always make time for something this important.
Let me just tell you that the place was cold and the water was very cold. So when I put my feet first, I froze. Then I got submerged and when I got up (reborn), I felt warmer because my heart was getting warmer. I was wet and happy while the brothers and sisters congratulated me. I have just taken a big step, and it has been a while since I moved. Christ really lives inside me even though I thought I was lost. And I still have lots to learn now.
Romans 6:3-6 (King James Version)
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
I have been reborn in spirit and I am officially part of God's family.
So it's not coincidence that I ended up in North California. It was more a plan of God.
And I'm going back to El Salvador in December 16, in case you're wondering. That gives me the chance to watch 3 liga matches including matches against Barcelona and Zaragoza. Why always Zaragoza?? Well, Zaragoza are interesting rivals and it has to be a good thing that I always can watch them.

Women have a lot of impact to soccer than you think
Endless commercials claiming USA woman soccer team to be the top of the world are rubbish, just like them. Brazil got them out of the competition with a goleada, but along came Germany and defeated them, which made them champions. I would've loved England to win, but they were eliminated by USA. I know, it's lame.
My dream would be being a professional soccer player and play this world cup that just finished. Imagine a World Cup in China (China!!! which will take many years to become the host country for a Men World cup) and me playing for a country. What a dream that would be. I wonder what country I could represent. El Salvador, no. Perhaps China, but they got eliminated as soon as they offered their roof. Maybe that dream would never become true. I don't want to live a dream with injuries and people undermining my soccer ability because I am a woman. I'm just kidding. That dream will never become true because I am not that good.
It's also a shame for David Beckham to appear more frequently on E! than on ESPN. He must return to Europe immediately before he retires, specifically to Real Madrid, else his whole career will be destroyed. I'm kidding, my advices are irrelevant and nobody listens to them. But I want to point out that the player's wives are the ones building the career for their husbands. Another example is Ashley Cole because who would leave Arsenal to go to Chelsea? (His wife didn't want him to leave to Real Madrid, so he stayed in London) So that is where woman take part in the whole soccer aspect: as wives, not as players.
You might think that I will marry a soccer player to do history in soccer as I always wanted to. Wrong!! Where I will get a good soccer player? Nowhere. This is how my random essay about woman in soccer history concludes.

Bye summer
Well, I hope I have a prosperous year and also for you readers, who stop by every month to check if I have updated or not.
My goals include getting a CA license, so I hope I can do it. Well, if Victoria Beckham could, why can't I? SF sucks, there isn't any soccer teams so I would never be able to watch David Beckham play.
Summer was fun. There is nothing better than having a reason to sleep until late (about 2 am everyday), play in a garden with my football, make friends with mosquitoes and cockroaches, play ping pong, recycle jokes, and so many stuff that you are not able to do when you leave your home country. Well, until we meet again in Christmas, I must say.

4th of July
Know why? Know why?
The 4th of July might not be as awesome as the 7th of July, but when you think about it, this day can be good in many ways. Let's say today is 2 days after Mario Belloso was captured, which is good, right? also there's a movie named after this non-important but still beautiful day.
There's a lot to talk about the 4th of July, right?

LA LIGA NUMERO 30!!
But I blame father's day for ruining my day. I couldn't see the whole match, especially the beginning when Real Madrid was losing and Barca was scoring easy goals in Tarragona. So I didn't know we were losing until I started watching 10 minutes after the second half started. I also got upset that Rudd and Beckham were injured. Then the equalizer and then the other two great goals. And kaboom!!, the Bernabeu and I went crazy.
Also Tom Cruise was there. But he didn't ruin the night for the players since Real Madrid fans don't really care about Hollywood. I can still remember how he ruined the premiere of Batman Begins and shadowed the great Christian Bale. But a great team like Real Madrid can surely step on little people like Tom Cruise. I am so glad. And Rafael Nadal was there, but he didn't do much since he is an authentic Real Madrid fan.
I was also touched by Casillas tears. He deserves it after staying in the club without any trophies. I will also miss Beckham.

I feel like I have to post
Well there is less than 2 weeks to go back to El Salvador. Besides watching movies, I don't really have many things planned to do. Anyway, my time will be filled with restaurant. Joy. Maybe I will also enhance my knowledge about hacking. I'm kidding.
And there will be 2 matches left for Real Madrid when I go back to El Salvador. That means if Real Madrid wins la liga, then I will be watching it!! No more YouTube recaps or match summaries. However, I am going to miss The Champions league. Pity.
Oh, and sorry that I don't post english class journals anymore. They got a little bit bore, so you are not missing anything.

And Milan thinks is Vendetta
And the reason why I haven't posted is because I don't have Internet at home. I can go to college and use it , but I never post. So forgive me, my dear readers.

Random person
Well, I found out that he died in 2005 in an accident. But before that he had an interesting diary, and tons of pics from his trip. He baptized as a Christian 18 months after he started his trip.
He states in his diary that he also visited other religions such as Buddhism, Muslim, etc. But that Christian was different from the rest.
Go check his website.

Easter Holidays
What I really did in my vacation is to go to my beloved in-n-out burger in fisherman's wharf. Also I learned that you mustn't eat a whole Cold Stone chocolate cone on you own. Is impossible. I almost die when I did that.
Anyways, the point is that having fun in the United States is expensive and not fun at all. Is like that concert from The Killers that I didn't go on Saturday.
Journal #5
Sometimes I miss details the first time I read a book; that is why I have to read it twice so I can get the most of it. That is why I would want to be able to read better so I do not spend so much time trying to decipher every word. I had a friend who really enjoyed reading that she couldn’t stop. Once she told me that she read one book (it was quite thick) in 18 hours without a break. She really enjoyed what she was reading and even said that it was as fun as watching television. I really would want to read books the way she does, so I can really enjoy them.
Reading is very important in my everyday life because there are many things I have to read such as the newspapers in order to actualize myself of what is happening worldwide. Also the Internet is not only full with games, photos and videos; it also has some entertaining text to read such as Wikipedia, Blogs and jokes.

Journal #4
In my experience, I feel that it is hard to spend the school time crammed with academic work. Very often students need something very different from what they are studying in order to give their brain a break. This is because all their energy has been drained in academic work and many students find sports or other extracurricular activities as a great energy recovery.
Many students make a wise use of their extracurricular activities. They can find that teamwork is indispensable when doing sports and they will enjoy the feeling of team spirit. Team spirit may be something you can’t find in academic study, which is why extracurricular activities are important.

Journal Writing #3
On the other hand, I like the way Daniel Goleman describes what the children did to keep their mind busy from thinking about eating the marshmallow. The results seem interesting. I don’t know exactly what I would have done in order to keep my mind busy.
Furthermore, I like how the marshmallow test proved that the decisions we make in our childhood reflect on the decisions we make in the future. I am amazed on the results from the test, where the children that could resist the temptation to eat the marshmallow turned out to be academic gifted people.

Journal #2
However, this boy had a liver problem which limited his body to do some physical activity. He was able to skip all physical education lessons, and I wondered how well his sport performance was in reality. If his body did allow him to swim, how good would he swim? Anyways, what really mattered to people was his brilliant academic gift, which was enough to gain him the valedictorian title in graduation. Plus, he was accepted in Harvard.
On the other hand, Isaac Asimov stated that not everyone is intelligent in everything, for example, Asimov knew nothing about auto repair. I believe that the smartest boy I met in high school would not do well in repairing cars or physical education, as I explained in the previous paragraph. However, his academic gift was accepted as a form of intelligence.
However, the soccer team of my high school consisted of boys who were not in the top ten of the class. Their academic ability was not considered a gift, but the way they won the school soccer trophy was considered as a sport gift. Having a sport gift is not actually considered a form of intelligence by some. I disagree with these people, since I regard intelligence as an area where anyone with a gift belongs there. Intelligence should not only be focused in the academic area, but in every other useful area.
Therefore, I agree with Asimov. Academic intelligence is not absolute, but "is a function of the society".

Journal Writing #1
When I was studying Biology in my high school, we studied the topic of herbicides and pesticides. I learned on how herbicides and pesticides were very helpful in farming and how they avoided food production to decline. I also learned that there were some chemicals from pesticides and herbicides which were very harmful to human health so they were banned. The way the chemicals reached humans was very interesting. First, the insects get sprayed with the insecticide and then they get eaten by animals such as ducks. The ducks then get eaten by humans, where they get infected with the insecticide's chemicals.
I believe that Rachel Carson's fable can become true someday. At first I did not know how I could stop insecticides from being used in farming, since they are very helpful in killing pests which threatened food production. I usually buy organic food because I am aware that insecticides, artificial flavors and additives are harmful for the body.
On the other hand, I find it hard to live without insecticides and herbicides. It is obvious that organic food is more expensive than non-organic food. Farming methods without the use of herbicides ad insecticides are hard and expensive. That is why poor people would find it difficult to get food if all was organic. So I must thank herbicides and insecticides for making farming an easier job.
In reality, myself and many people are uncertain whether to not support the use of herbicides and insecticides. There are many things which would be lost if all herbicides and insecticides are banned but also if we continue using them, many of the natural environments will be destroyed as Rachel Carson states in her essay.

New Year
Unfortunately, I didn't get to eat delicious chinese food or receive money. I never do anyway.
The good thing was that the weather was fine. Winter is almost coming to an end. Now I get to enjoy my ice tea tapioca drink more in a warmer weather han in a sweater.
Here is another video of the Simpsons in China to celebrate more the Chinese new year. Enjoy.

Somewhere only we know
A memento from the concert. Although is not one of my favourite songs, this one is the most popular. I havent got the chance to check all the videos on youtube from the concert. Observe how the band is only made up of 3 members, and the singer doesn't play an instrument. So is only piano and drums. Well, the singer played the acoustic guitar for one song. But a guitar really means nothing in this band.

Ney year post
I been busy. I started college in Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill. No, the devil is not our mascot. I believe a viking is. Also I live in front of the college, so I don't need a car to get there. Is also weird to have evening classes and visit the library at night. Technically I am free to do whatever I want (no mal piensen, yo soy correcta).
jajaja, I kind of miss El Salvador, but I am getting used to it. The ABC is now a far off memory that is like a scattered dream. A scattered dream that is like a far off memory (yeah eso no lo invente, lo copie). Well, DVC campus is big and I have been exploring it lately. Is so cold in here, that I long to be in the warm weather of El Salvador.
I went to the KEANE concert last weekend at Berkeley. It was awesome!!! Who likes Keane? You know, the ones that sing "somewhere only we know" and they only play the piano and almost never the guitar. They are awesome!! I recorded it in my mobile and now I get to hear them whenever I want. Also I found out the Killers are coming again, but is awfully expensive than last time. I don't think I will go.
Okay, I miss football and I waiting for Becks to come. Q chafa.
