Journal Writing #1

Okay, for people who are waiting for me to write something in my blog, I have found a solution. Since I am taking an english writing class that requires me to write journals responses from essays I read, I am then going to post those journals into my blog. It is very rarely that I write to myself, and therefore publishing my writings will make me put more effort on them. Also we often have to trade our diaries with other colleagues and respond to their diaries. So I will also post my replies to other people. I have to write a total of 48 journal entries, so you'll never get bored. Here is Journal #1 for your delightment:

Journal Writing for Fable for tomorrow

When I was studying Biology in my high school, we studied the topic of herbicides and pesticides. I learned on how herbicides and pesticides were very helpful in farming and how they avoided food production to decline. I also learned that there were some chemicals from pesticides and herbicides which were very harmful to human health so they were banned. The way the chemicals reached humans was very interesting. First, the insects get sprayed with the insecticide and then they get eaten by animals such as ducks. The ducks then get eaten by humans, where they get infected with the insecticide's chemicals.

I believe that Rachel Carson's fable can become true someday. At first I did not know how I could stop insecticides from being used in farming, since they are very helpful in killing pests which threatened food production. I usually buy organic food because I am aware that insecticides, artificial flavors and additives are harmful for the body.

On the other hand, I find it hard to live without insecticides and herbicides. It is obvious that organic food is more expensive than non-organic food. Farming methods without the use of herbicides ad insecticides are hard and expensive. That is why poor people would find it difficult to get food if all was organic. So I must thank herbicides and insecticides for making farming an easier job.

In reality, myself and many people are uncertain whether to not support the use of herbicides and insecticides. There are many things which would be lost if all herbicides and insecticides are banned but also if we continue using them, many of the natural environments will be destroyed as Rachel Carson states in her essay.
