I have boycotted facebook. For whom? For myself!! I have realized that I really hate it. I never got addicted to it, so it was easy. I have cleared my profile and the pictures, but I will still maintain my account open so I can keep in touch.
The reasons I hate it are simple: it keeps young generations tied to the computer and to a virtual world that doesn't exist. They could do better things instead. for example, feeding their intellectuality by reading the news. I prefer that they watch television instead. Or play video games. Everything that I learned from a facebook account were not good.
The Internet (especially social websites and messenger) truly have made an impact on teenagers. It made an impact on me, and I regret it. I regret spending time on the computer instead of learning how to cook from my mom. Now it's too late. And my dear little sister is like that, and I don't want her to follow my example (but she is anyway).
However, it was not enough for me to say "I hate facebook". And then add the word "really". So I had to shut it down.
It's good news for me and you. I will spend more time on blogs. Yeah, blogs are social websites too, but unlike facebook, they feed my intellectuality. They are not a waste of time.
I'll be back in El Salvador on June 15th. Real Madrid would have won La Liga title already, and I don't know if the Europe Cup would be over. I'll check the dates. But I don't want to leave. There will be a Christian retreat on summer when I leave. And many other youth rallies to meet other young Christians. It's so upsetting :(.
