No Comprendo

I don't understand why there is a storm in the Bay Area that started as soon as I got here.

Today was my first day of classes. I was bored by the introductory lectures today. And discussion sessions are mostly cancelled this first week since there is nothing to discuss about. But mostly it was wet. It rained morning when I was heading to my first class and it rained again when I was heading back home. I need new rain boots and maybe a waterproof thick jacket. It rained as if it was El Salvador. Not fair. When I was in El Salvador for the winter break, there was a cold front that lasted a little less than a week. But the purpose of me going to El Salvador is to be kept warm. But I got a little cold there and a little sick.

Now that I am back in the bay area it rains. And if I go to El Salvador for the summer it will rain. As if someone is waiting for me to slip with the wet floor. I wished it was very cold here so we have a cold snowy storm and classes were cancelled.

I still feel a little free since I still don't have homework. Enough to catch up with my favorite tv shows.

My reading habits are really weird. A friend lend me a book a while ago in June last year. I read the first chapter and didn't finish it. I forgot about it in the summer, where I spend the time doing nothing but watching tv and doing other things I don't remember about. I wanted to finish it in the winter break because I forgot about it during my first semester at the big University. But I forgot about it because I spent most of my winter break doing things in El Salvador that I normally can't do in the US. I then forced myself to read it in the airplane on the way back here because I want to return it to my friend as soon as possible.

That book caught my attention as soon as I paid it. When I arrived to SF, I was halfway through it. And I only have about 3 chapters left to read. If there wasn't anything else to do, I would read it in one day. It is really a short book; don't think of me as a super bookworm.

The book is called "Daughter of China" by C. Hope Flinchbaugh. Although it's fiction (but based on real events), it involves all the topics that I am interested about: Christianity, girl in China, communism, one child policy, persecution, prison, etc. I highly recommend it. One of the things I will be praying about is Christianity in China, where the population is 1.3 billion and where the gospel is hard to share. I am truly blessed to live in places where God's word can be heard and praising His precious name won't put you in prison.

Okay, I am now going to see how this book ends.

I'm looking forward to getting more information about this topic, don't worry about negative opinions.
